"36
Saints" bring about a sense of urgency and mystery with a great story
surrounded in religious lore.
The story
seems real, mostly because the story which it's based upon is real,
incorporating the fear of the unknown with the mysticism of religion,
Joseph,
played by Franky G, is a detective who is investigating a mysterious string of
homicides alongside his partner Michael, played by Jeffrey De Serrano .
Joseph
finds one thing in common which leads him to the church he use to attend
growing up.
At the same
time a group of students from all over the world, who now attend school
together in New York, plan a memorial to celebrate the lives of friends who
died suddenly in a tragic plane crash a year prior.
The group
consisting of actress Eve, played by Britne Oldford, her athletic boyfriend
Sebastian, played by Matthew Daddario, bad boy gone good Dominic, played by
Chris Riggi, tough but sweet Joan, played by Aja Naomi King, hip hop mogul on
the rise, Valentine, played by Tyrone Brown, and beautiful, carefree Maria,
played by Alesandra Assante, begin to turn up dead, one by one.
The
evidence piles up and more body bags are gathered, the detectives figure that
the killer is basing his crimes on the belief that every generation has 36
righteous individuals who live among us and without knowing keep the world
stable, where with all of them gone the world would fall into chaos, corruption
and darkness.
Frankly G
leads the amazing cast that captures the attention of the audience as he
journeys through the mysterious terror of this film. His acting is just right
for the part as nothing connects just right.
De
Serrano compliments Franky G great and together they make a great set of
detectives. They go together well an keep the suspense o the film up throughout
the entire film. The ending was unexpected and surprising. It satisfies and
continues to be frightful.
I give
this film 4 out of 5 Popcorns. It's just scary enough to be horror but it also
holds suspense elements that continue to impact and make audiences think. The
ending is different and well executed. The more complex the story becomes the
more the audience wants to see. It comes to be a satisfying movie although if
the audience misses just a bit they may end up lost.
"36
Saints" is out in theaters this Friday.
