The Fourth studio album from English singer/songwriter Dido, "Girl Who Got Away" delivers a soft and creative mix that sooth listeners.
The chant like singing of Dido creates a light mood with a mix of fast and slow beats. Her voice continues in the same charming manner of albums that preceded this album.
This forth studio album comes five years after the album prior to it.
Some fast beat tracks are found through out this album, but the same calming voice Dido has been known for capture the essence of the album.
The album contains 11 songs making it a very brief listen.
The first single released, "Let Us Move On," has a faster feel to it and yet entrap the listener with a rhythmic chorus and collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, who has a small rap in the song.
First track on the album but second single released, "No Freedom," is most like past Dido hits. It's led by the powerful voice of Dido. The song is well accompanied by a well placed guitar and instrumentals that seem to compliment Dido's voice.
Third single, "End of Night," is fast-paced and brings a new sound with its beats.
The album has some strangely unique songs which test the diversity of Dido. "Go Dreaming" seems to stand out with a trance feel that give it a dreamy feel. The song is one of a kind and quite enjoyable.
Soft tracks, such as "Loveless Hearts", help to break off the album's tracks and emphasize the delicate sound of Dido's voice.
The manner of the final song, "Day Before We Went to War," is quiet in nature ending the album well, grasping the listeners attention to the solemn lyrics and voice of Dido.
The entire album has a very natural soft feel. The tracks seem to be in no particular order feeling random in their placement.
Dido's voice controls the songs through out and over power the instruments with lyrics that leave the listener thinking about what was just heard.
Dido's newest album "Girl Who Got Away" is out now.
