With his newest film, "The Lords of Salem," coming to theaters in less than a week, the impact Rob Zombie has had on the horror genre come to mind.

More recently adding filmmaker to his résumé by directing, writing and producing a number if films. As a classic horror fan Zombie has been able to intertwine many of the classic elements of horror and create a feel to his films that captures the fascination of audiences.
Many struggles and obstacles came from the gore filled violence galore of his first film "House of 1000 Corpses." The fan following for the film's 2003 release, despite being completed in 2000, prompted a sequel entitles "The Devil's Rejects" in 2005.
Both films had a good success with his fan base and brought recognition to Zombie as a talented horror filmmaker.
Zombie's third film brought him to remake 1978 classic film "Halloween" in 2007.
The film was a success being the highest grossing "Halloween" film in the franchise bringing in $80 million. This film too merited a sequel, "Halloween II" which would be released in 2009.
As well as "Halloween II," 2009 would see Zombie's animated dark comedy "The World of El Superbeasto." The animated film is based on his comic by the same name and features Tom Papa, Sheri Moon Zombie, Paul Giamatti, Tom Kenny, Rosario Dawson and Brian Posehn as the voices of the films characters.
"The Lords of Salem" seems to be another horror masterpiece coming out April 19, 2013. Check out the trailer:
Needless to say this movie will be on my list not just to watch but to review as well. I am looking forward to it as horror movies are my favorite to watch and Rob Zombie has made some of my favorite horror movies of all time.
The strange effect that Zombie creates from bringing in timeless style of horror cult classics increases the jump appeal of his films. Zombie was the perfect choice to remake "Halloween" and stay true to the subtle scares and all around creepy factor of Michael Myers.
On MTV cribs Rob Zombie showed a massive collection of VHS horror films stashed away in a walk in closet and had started collecting DVDs of any horror film he would find.
A person with such a passion for the horror genre would be a great horror filmmaker and Zombie has proven he is.
