Los Angeles, CA (June 11, 2013) - Venezuelan rock band ViniloVersus returns to the U.S. to participate in the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) to be held in New York City between July 9th and 13th.
After winning two Pepsi Awards in Venezuela for Best Rock Album (Cambie de Nombre) and for Best Production (Carlos Imperatori, Rudy Pagliuca and LASCA), the rock quartet returns in order to continue to solidify their career in the U.S. through a promotional tour and their participation in the LAMC.
The first showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10 at Mercury Lounge in NYC. The second showcase will be held on Thursday July 11th at the renown SOB's in NYC where the band will perform an intimate acoustic set.
The group which is comprised of Rodrigo Gonsalves (guitar-vocals), Adrian Salas (bass 2, vocals), John Victor Belisario (bass) and Orlando Martinez (drums), is deemed as one of the most innovative and respected rock bands in Latin America that has emerged on the scene in the last few years.
After dominating the scene in Venezuela through their consistent touring, in-stores, and promotional tours, they managed to leave a great impression on fans and critics alike in the U.S. with the release of their album "Cambié de Nombre" and their impressive showcase in South by Southwest in Austin (Texas). The album "Cambié de Nombre" received two Latin Grammy nominations in 2012 for "Best Rock or Alternative Album" and "Best Recording Package", taking home a Grammy for "Best Recording Package". In 2010, the group was also nominated for Best Rock or Alternative Album for 'Si No Nos Mata'.
ViniloVersus' sound along with their visual and artistic concept, has garnered an impressive following of fans and attention from the media throughout Latin America and the U.S. Their powerful sound is a reflection of their hard work in the studio and on stage. Their sound is rooted in a solid drumbeat accompanied by two bass guitars with sharp riffs that are pounding, distorted and mesmerizing, together with defiant and daring lyrics sung by the melancholic voice of their front man.
