A predictable storyline gets taken to an entertaining place in "World War Z" with Brad Pitt traveling continent to continent looking for a cure for a zombie like illness.
The story takes Gerry Lane, played by Pitt, and his family out into harms way to be rescued and blackmailed by a frightened government that has no idea what exactly is going in the infected world.
Lane quit his stressful job to make time for his family only to be thrown back into it to protect them.
Lane gets forced to go help the government discover the origin of the zombie like infection which plagues the world. He travels from continent to continent discovering pieces to the puzzle. To reassure his family he keeps calling and answering their daily call and assure them that he is alive.
The government allows Lane's family to reside in government protection as long as Lane is helping them out.
Joining up with other military operatives Lane gets a chance to not only encounter some of these infected zombies but also has the opportunity to talk to people who can help him along his journey.
The major attraction of this film is Brad Pitt who keeps this predictable storyline entertaining. His emotional portrayal of a man willing to put himself through torment to keep hi family safe. He kept a real familiar feel to the manner in which he put his life on the line.
The ending is kind of original but nonsensical in a way. It does not add to the story much and makes very little sense.
I give this film 3 out of 5 Popcorns. The film has very cool zombie scenes that are highly cool but also contain a ton of Computer Generated Images. Brad Pitt does an incredible job of making his character feel genuine and keeping the storyline entertaining. The ending may not be the greatest but Pitt taking the journey keeps audience's attention.
"World War Z" is out in theaters now.
