The Stage Miami Presents Locos Por Juana in La Fiesta Loca Concert Series Beginning August 16
Design District venue and Grammy and Latin Grammy-Nominated Group collaborate to entertain the Miami masses
Miami, FL (August 6, 2013) - The Stage Miami, the Design District's premiere mid-sized live music and event venue and Locos Por Juana, the internationally recognized Afro-kumbe act from Miami, have put their collective heads together and come up with a new, exclusive concert series. La Fiesta Loca will premiere on Friday, August 16, 2013 and feature LPJ along with one other exciting Latin American-flavored act. The maiden "crazy party" will pairLocos Por Juana with Colombian audio/visual collective El Freaky, who blend African influences with South American and Caribbean folkloric music, and Mr. Pauer, Miami's own unconventional and groovy Fabrika Music chief.
"I've sensed a change in the Miami music scene, in terms of live music specifically," says The Stage's owner Carlos F. Garcia. "It seems that nightlife in Miami has become more about the party than the live music, so in order to give the people what they want, we decided to change things up a bit and collaborate with the Locos camp." The series will occur once a month and is already confirmed for a second date September 21st with Los Angeles'Palenke Soul Tribe. Both nights will feature Mr. Pauer and the Los Chamos food truck.
Traditional Central and South American weddings sometimes celebrate the occasion with a carnival-style atmosphere. At some point during the night, revelers reinvigorate the party with a renewed enthusiasm and recommitment to music , drink and dance until dawn. In keeping with this tradition, The Stage will celebrate La Hora Loca during La Fiesta Locanights with masks, glow sticks, noisemakers and drink specials just before Locos Por Juanaperforms.
The La Fiesta Loca series will double as an exclusive residency for Locos Por Juana - if you want to catch the spicy hot act in South Florida during the next six months, it will have to be at The Stage Miami. On why he chose to collaborate with Locos, Garcia offers: "Our relationship with LPJ goes back to their first appearance at Carnaval on the Mile in 2005. Also, they were the first act to perform and be interviewed on Sound Theory Live in 2009 have played at The Stage's anniversary celebrations each year. They have always been very supportive of us."
Admission to the event at The Stage on the day of is $15; $10 presale tickets are now available online at www.TheStageMiami.com. Doors open at 9 p.m. and those 21 and over are welcome.
