Plain and simple takes extraordinary on a spin in "The LEGO Movie."
It's a delightful film which takes action movie cliches and puts a funny unexpected twist to create an entertaining story for the entire family.
The story begins as Lord Business, voiced by Will Ferrell, steals the LEGO universe's most powerful weapon, the "Kragle" from a secret layer guarded by Vitruvious, voiced by Morgan Freeman.
Ferrell does not really feel consistent with the other voice actors as he just has a loud and annoying tone which adds no real depth to his character.

Vitruvious tells the story of a prophecy in which a yellow-faced LEGO called the special who with the "piece of resistance" would rise to stop Lord Business's evil plan.
Ordinary construction worker Emmet, voiced by Chris Pratt, wakes up every morning following every instruction provided by the president of the world, the now President Business. He does such a good job of fitting in that he goes unnoticed.
In a search for the "piece of resistance" Wyldstyle, voiced by Elizabeth Banks, searches the construction yard Emmet works in capturing his attention.
Emmet stumbles upon the "piece of resistance" and his life become much more exciting.
Banks gives Wyldstyle a fierce attitude with a voice that has an attitude that keeps the audience's attention throughout the film.

Neeson shows versatile voice acting being the voice of Good cop/Bad cop and Pa cop. Each voice is unique and distinct giving each character depth and personality.
The arrogant manner of Arnett's voice gives Batman a pompous and self-righteous feel.
The film in it's entirety is great but there are some sequences close to the end where it feels like the story diverges from it's entertaining nature and loses it's momentum.
I give this animated film 4 out of 5 Popcorns. Emmet is a likable underdog character that gets the audience on his side from the beginning. The supporting cast does just that, they support the main character and love interest. The main downside is the villain and the clumsy incoherent nature Lord Business provides to the story. The plot twist also slows the flow of the story and provides a small amount of story progression.
Don't miss "The LEGO Movie" in theaters now.
