Executive producer Natalie Popovich enters into national distribution deal for ‘Macabre Theatre’ wherein she plays the iconic character of the charming 21st century ghoul, Ivonna Cadaver alongside with Butch Patrick, aka Eddie Munster.
Hollywood, CA - There is some good news in store for fans of the “next generation of horror” who can’t get enough of shows like “The Walking Dead,” “American Horror Story,” and “The Strain.”
Natalie Popovich has been signed on to reprise the much-loved character of Ivonna Cadaver, the 21st century ghoul in the latest batch of episodes of Macabre Theatre.
Viewers will be able to enjoy the entertaining antics of the endearing Ivonna on weekends, by tuning into Macabre Theatre, which will be shown on Youtoo America TV, a national service providing programming to more than 40 million households in the U.S. But that’s not all.
Universal Monster Movies has joined forces with Macabre Theatre to make this Halloween the best ever.
After successfully producing and syndicating more than 50 episodes of Macabre Theatre over the years, Ivonna and her crew are back in production featuring Universal Classic Monster Movies with DVD giveaways from Universal this Halloween and throughout the year.
Ivonna says, “I’m thrilled to pieces about our new network Youtoo America. It’s simply to die for. Since the first airing on October 4th, the response from fans has been overwhelming, and they love the Universal Giveaways.”
Macabre Theatre launched on KDOC-TV in Los Angeles and became nationally syndicated within a short span of time. It was conceptualized with an idea to create a weekly program where viewers could watch their favorite classic or cult horror films with a modern, 21st century twist.
Giving Natalie Popovich company on the show is co-host Butch Patrick who is best known as “Eddie Munster” on the TV series “The Munsters.”
Patrick is celebrating the 50th anniversary of “The Munsters” classic TV show with the new launch of Macabre Theatre on Youtoo America TV.
Ryan Rains, Director of Operations of Youtoo America, said, “It's a very exciting time for Youtoo America. This new programming coincides with our recent launch and the 50-year anniversary of the Munsters television show, so having Natalie Popovich and Butch Patrick with us this Halloween and in the months to come will be great fun for our viewers."
Besides having won favor from the audiences, the show, especially the character of Ivonna Cadaver has received critical acclaim as well. She was named the ‘New Face of Horror’ on CNN’s Jane Velez-Mitchell show and ranks first at the “Top 5 Hosts in Horror” list on IMDb (Internet Movie Data Base).
Macabre Theatre has also become the apt platform for independent filmmakers to get the exposure they deserve by screening new indie horror titles like “The Creepy Doll” and “Goatsucker” which put the spotlight on next generation directors and actors.
“I am excited about these new shows, said executive producer Natalie Popovich, who portrays the character Ivonna Cadaver. “We plan to spotlight the small independent directors and writers who are shooting the best indie horror films today. These talented artists will be tomorrow’s Roger Corman and Quintin Tarantino.
Macabre Theatre has done several major Halloween Specials, one of which was an homage to Universal Studios classic horror films such as the Chucky franchise, James Gunn’s Slither (director of Guardians of the Galaxy) and Peter Jackson’s King Kong at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood California.
Host, Ivonna Cadaver has performed shows for Knott’s Scary Farm as well as events and appearances at the Egyptian Theatre and the Alfred Hitchcock Theatre on Universal’s lot.
With the popularity of frightening shows on TV that feature Zombies, Witches, Vampires, Ghosts, and even Killer Clowns, it looks like it’s going to be another epic year for Macabre Theatre and the horror genre.
