The official first day of Anime Expo 2015 kicks off with a memorable concert, the chalk twins with a new large chalk drawing and the exhibition hall filled with anime fans.
Japanese pop girl group Momoiro Clover Z led about 4,000 fans through its lively American concert debut at Anime Expo 2015 in Los Angeles, California.
The quintet performed 14 songs during the hour and a half set at the Microsoft Theater, including the collaboration single with legendary rock band KISS “Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina,” released in January. The group also sang themes from popular animes such as “Sailor Moon Crystal,” “Pokemon” and the upcoming anime feature film “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F.”
Fans followed along to almost every song using special light sticks and otagei, organized cheering and gestures, which created an exciting atmosphere.
Momoiro Clover Z and KISS co-founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley received special awards before the concert from Japan’s International “Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia” for their “Samurai Son” music video.
This concert marks Momoiro Clover Z’s third performance outside of Japan since debut in 2008.
The chalk twins return to AX with a large Naruto chalk drawing for the silent auction ending on Sunday.
Along with the new drawing, the chalk twins have brought prints of past chalk drawings sold in the silent auctions and other chalk drawing prints.
Other large chalk drawings are available for attendees to take photos with.
The chalk twins are in the West Hall and are willing to talk and answer questions with those who would like to.
At the Voltage booth "My Forged Wedding" Party, prizes are given for registering for newsletters and answering surveys.
Attendees can also take photos in a chapel setting to simulate getting married.
Models that look similar to the characters of the app are available to take photos with in one of three different poses.
More coverage and photos are to come in the next few days.
A photo gallery of the day's events will be posted soon.
