Kyla said, "'Showtime' is really about my love of performing and how I do what I love to do. The concept for the video is that me, Kyla the fan, is at a concert where Kyla Imani the artist is performing. And as this is all happening, Kyla the director is filming it all. I had so much fun filming with all of my close friends who are all 'Showtime' stars in their own ways."At only 13 years old, Kyla quickly became a viral phenomenon with her "kid's version" of Beyoncé's "7/11."
Featuring a side-by-side flawless take on the original, with a few lyric adjustments - i.e. "Don't you drop that alcohol" becomes "don't you drop that lemonade" - the web nearly imploded over her rendition, with the likes of People Magazine, BET, MTV, Huffington Post, The Source, Bustle and more all jumping on the bandwagon.
The budding icon is a young multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, actress, composer, dancer and junior editor of Lil' Miss Jones in the popular Jones magazine.
While her "7/11" cover has racked up over 1.17 Million Views on YouTube and counting, she's also making a name for herself as a musician on-the-rise in her hometown of New York City - performing at The Source Magazine's inaugural SOURCE360 KIDS Showcase in Brooklyn last year.
