While many people know that LAMB OF GOD's Randy Blythe served a terrifying overseas jail sentence, many people don't know about his battles with alcoholism and depression.
In this YouRock interview, Blythe dives into his struggles, noting how suffering from depression doesn't always come from detrimental circumstances:
"I was in a great place but I felt like I was dying. That's the component of alcoholism and depression that's really baffling to some people," Blythe said.
Blythe said, "I was listening to the Sex Pistols, and Black Flag, and the Bad Brains. There's this aggressive music, this stuff that's speaking about real things...and I'm like, 'I'm not crazy, I'm not alone in the world.'"Other artists featured by The You Rock Foundation include Slipknot, Stone Sour, Korn, Killswitch Engage, Black Stone Cherry, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Nothing More, and others.

ABOUT You Rock Foundation:
The You Rock Foundation is an online platform for instilling hope and love by publishing videos of popular bands testifying about their personal demons, how they fought them, and how they won. It empowers those who feel powerless, spreads awareness about their existence, and educates their family and friends on how they can help by working with preexisting organizations like the Mental Health America and School of Rock.
