The band said, "It is the current moment that matters - the here and now. Yet so many people want to put off what we should do right now for the hopes of doing it tomorrow. Now is your moment."The Bergamot recently wrapped their highly successful The Unity Collective USA Kickstarter campaign, which surpassed its goal of $15,000 towards the band's upcoming 48 State "Unity Tour," raising more than 109% of the funds needed.
The money raised will be used to maintain the band's Volvo throughout the tour, in addition to documenting the entire experience and providing updates to fans along the way.
At each stop, The Bergamot will be inviting fans to sign their car as a symbol of unity.
The "Unity Tour" kicked off in NYC on Jan. 2, and will conclude with a homecoming in South Bend, IN on April 2.
It also marks the band's last tour in their 2002 Volvo, which has racked up over 271,000 miles throughout their history of touring.
The Volvo will be auctioned off at the tour's final stop, with all proceeds going towards Memorial Children's Hospital.
Consisting of husband-and-wife duo Nathaniel Paul Hoff and Jillian Speece, The Bergamot arrived on the international music scene in 2012 when they won Bud Light Battle of the Bands.
Since then, the band has seen their popularity balloon, taking them from coast to coast and from continent to continent.
Drawing upon influences such as Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, The Dave Matthews Band and Bob Dylan, The Bergamot writes songs that are uplifting, catchy, and enchanting as Jillian's velvety alto voice blends seamlessly with Nathaniel's ethereal vocals to create dynamic harmonies.
The band weaves intimate storytelling with articulate instrumentation, crafting an innovative indie folk-rock sound that combines both the joys and heartaches of life into a story.
Since meeting in their hometown of South Bend, Indiana in 2003, Nathaniel and Jillian have released three albums and toured extensively across North America and Europe.
Thanks to their uplifting and infectiously sweet sound, The Bergamot has been taking the music world by storm - earning the affection and admiration of BuzzFeed, Daytrotter, The Aquarian Weekly, ICON Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Brooklyn Vegan, Kings of A&R, The Deli Magazine, and so many more, as well as a recent placement on ABC's "Blood & Oil."
The Bergamot have also opened up for artists such as All American Rejects, Young The Giant, and Ben Sollee, as well as performed at SXSW, Taste of Chicago, The Traverse City Film Festival, and Bud Lights Port Paradise Music Festival.
The Bergamot will be releasing their new album Tones on Feb. 11.
