Days of the Dead invades Los Angeles, CA from April 1 to April 3, and features one of the most diverse guest lists of any horror convention in the country.
This year’s guests include Canadian film director Patricia Chica, who is known for her award-winning genre and fantasy films Ceramic Tango, Serpent’s Lullaby and A Tricky Treat.
Patricia Chica has been programmed by the curators of the Etheria Film Night (Heidi Honeycutt and Stacy Pippi Hammon) to screen A Tricky Treat and participate in a panel full of other outstanding female directors who will discuss their creative process and talk about the craft of making scary movies.

Patricia Chica is a Canadian multi award-winning director-producer who has built a loyal audience and cult following internationally. Dread Central put her on the list of the “Rising Female Filmmakers” to watch. She specializes in high-quality author driven genre films that have great commercial appeal and that uplifts the audiences. One of Patricia’s principles is to always depict strong characters, with mood and tone, and exhibit visual ingenuity while delivering an engaging, thought-provoking and entertaining story. Her horror shorts Ceramic Tango, A Tricky Treat, and Serpent’s Lullaby have won multiple awards. The latter was part of the “Coup de Coeur” selection of the favorite international shorts at the 67th Cannes Film Festival (Short Film Corner). For the last three years, she has been part of the Massive Blood Drive PSA anthology curated by the Soska Sisters for the Women in Horror Month. Patricia Chica presently divides her time between Los Angeles and her hometown Montreal.
