The Los Angeles Kings have signed defenseman Paul LaDue to a one-year entry-level contract, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced on April 29.
The 23-year-old LaDue (born Sept. 6, 1992) is a 6-1, 186-pound native of Grand Forks, N.D. who appeared in 41 games this season with the University of North Dakota (NCAA), tallying 19 points (5-14=19), a plus-31 rating and 14 penalty minutes.
LaDue helped lead North Dakota to the National Championship this season, recording an assist in a 5-1 win over the top-seeded Quinnipiac University in the National Championship game.
A sixth-round (181st overall) selection of the Kings at the 2012 NHL Draft, LaDue appeared in 123 games over three seasons with North Dakota, recording 62 points (16-46=62) and 68 penalty minutes. LaDue as helped North Dakota reach the Frozen Four each season he has been there.
