The Ink Factory has closed a deal to finance and produce Drew Pearce’s hotly contested "Hotel Artemis."
Drew Pearce will direct from his own script, with Marc Platt producing for Marc Platt Productions.
Stephen and Simon Cornwell will produce for The Ink Factory, who will also finance.
Becky Sloviter will oversee for The Ink Factory.
Set in its own distinctive crime universe, "Hotel Artemis" is based on an original script by Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Godzilla), who will make his directorial debut on the original near-future thriller.
Pearce will executive produce through his Point Of No Return production banner.
“Drew is one of the most talented screenwriters in town and has created yet another vibrant and captivating world, peopled with the most fantastic characters. We are thrilled to be supporting his directorial debut with this terrific project,” The Ink Factory’s Stephen Cornwell said. “This is also another exciting opportunity for us to work with Marc Platt and Adam Siegel, two of the best producers in Hollywood.”The Ink Factory recently produced and financed the adaptation of John le Carré’s “The Night Manager,” the highly acclaimed drama starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie and directed by Susanne Bier, which recently premiered to record ratings on the BBC and AMC.
The company is also behind "A Most Wanted Man," based on the novel by John le Carré, released in 2014.
Upcoming projects for The Ink Factory include Our Kind of Traitor, to be released in the U.S. next month by Roadside Attractions, and Message from the King.
"Abzû," the first video game title from The Ink Factory’s Giant Squid Studios, will be released on PlayStation on August 2 of this year.
The Ink Factory and Marc Platt Productions are currently collaborating on Ang Lee’s anticipated "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk," which Sony Pictures will be releasing worldwide on November 11.
The Ink Factory is a film, television and digital production company based in London and Los Angeles, founded in 2010 by Stephen Cornwell and his brother Simon.
