The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, the 40th Anniversary of STARLOG, an exclusive preview of FROM THE BRIDGE, and Kerry O’Quinn’s birthday.
Directed by Spencer F. Lee, FROM THE BRIDGE is a feature documentary exploring the fantastic evolution of sci-fi, horror, and superhero fandom from “invisible” to the largest, most desirable and most outrageous audience on the planet earth.
Guests got a sneak peek at the un-released trailer of the movie.
The trailer featured never before seen footage of when Kerry O’Quinn introduced Gene Roddenberry and George Lucas on stage for the first time at the first STAR WARS celebration.

O’Quinn is considered the father of fandom; he published more than 20 newsstand magazines worldwide from NYC before the Internet existed, including STARLOG, FANGORIA, CINEMAGIC, FUTURE LIFE, GORE ZONE and COMICS SCENE.
He also produced the first STAR WARS celebration.
Wednesday night many well-known people in the industry personally thanked him for his work including Tom DeSanto, producer and director of X-MEN and TRANSFORMERS, and Nichelle Nichols, STAR TREK.
