Introducing Reset in Peace, A New Long Island-Based Artistically Driven Apparel

Introducing Reset in Peace, a brand new vibrant apparel company created by Chris Ghiraldi, a Long Island-born artist who aims to give back to those in need through his art.

 

For over twenty years, Chris Ghiraldi has been creating imaginative drawings and paintings that cover a wide spectrum of influences; in his work one can find anything from cartoonish robots and demonic cassette tapes to realistic figures and abstract patterns. 

 His formal art education (BFA, SUNY Purchase) gave him a love and understanding of color theory that can be felt across all of his art- even black and white sketches.

Ghiraldi said, "The idea of 'resting in peace' was not an option for me, but, to reset in peace was. When presented with the worst of the worst, there was never the absence of my creativity. I can recall being homeless and only having the clothes on my back, a backpack, and a sketchbook. It is from the pages in that sketchbook that the Reset in Peace designs were born."

For as long as he's been a visual artist, Chris has also led a double life as an accomplished and original electronic music composer. 

Under the moniker "Velapene Screen" he has released 3 full length albums and 3 EP's. 

His expert skill and creativity in the digital realm of music won him first prize at both the 2004 Philadelphia Laptop battle and the 2006 New York City Laptop Battle. 

These victories gained him a cult following, record contracts, and write-ups in Rolling Stone magazine. 

In addition to his solo material he has also done remixes for Regina Spektor, Interpol and Radiohead. 

His artwork has been purchased by private collectors as well as the powerhouse color company Pantone.

The line currently consists of men's and women's t-shirts, hoodies and tank tops, in addition to one of a kind signed and numbered prints, with more to come.

 

A portion of proceeds from every item sold will go to the Reno-Sparks Mission, a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to overcoming homelessness, addiction, hunger and poverty in the Northern Nevada area. 

RSGM helped clothe and provide shelter to Chris while he was recovering from addiction.
