LITTLE ITALY AT THE GROVE IN LOS ANGELES

With 30 years of murder mystery dinners Keith O'Leary and Margo Morrison continue a tradition of Murder Mystery dinners with performances across the nation.
A dinner Murder Mystery hosted at several Maggiano's Little Italy locations every weekend, performances nationwide and private events, there's more to this performance than meets the eye.
O'Leary said the performance changes every month and many people go back time and time again to have a brand new experience every visit.
The murder mystery genre has had a long history, starting as a party game and growing due to popularity. In 1935 the first murder mystery game was released.
The most well known murder mystery game "Clue" was released in 1948 and became the first murder mystery board game.
In the early 1980s role-playing versions of the murder mystery game popped up.
O'Leary and Morrison started in 1985 and has been co-hosted Mary Higgins Clark, Peter Falk, and Dr. Henry Lee.
"We started the company back in 1985, thats over 30 years ago, in Los Angeles," O'Leary said. "We started doing weekends at hotels and then it moved into public dinners."
The quality of the show grew and continues to evolve and bring more and more attendees from around the world to the Murder Mystery Dinners.
"We have basically been responsible for spreading it across the country," O'Leary said.
The attendees sign-up and upon arrival to the dinner get a welcome letter with questions to ask each other. The only thing the attendees know to start is that there are actors mixed in the group, but are unaware of who the actors are.
The dinner is typically three hours long and starts with a cocktail reception where a murder takes place and then the clues start coming.
Three murders take place in total. At the end of the dinner the guest get to write down their guess as to who did it before the detective solves the murder logically.
An award ceremony is had with the best guest theories are given prizes.
With offices on both the East and West Coast they still travel extensively, producing weekends, dinners, private parties, a unique CSI team-building experience, as well as corporate events for virtually the entire Fortune 500.
