"Body Wars"

Indie rock band June Divided have premiered their forthcoming EP "Body Wars."

June Divided will be celebrating their EP release at Union Transfer in Philadelphia on Dec. 4th at 6:30 p.m..

"Body Wars has been in the works for a while, and it's a special feeling to finally see it out there," the band told Music Times about the new EP. Written and recorded over the course of four years, "Body Wars" is the culmination of months of "experimenting, disagreeing, working through setbacks, and exploring" to create the evolved sound of June Divided. "If your head and your heart have ever been at war with each other, this record is for you." Music Times remarked that, "All of the songs on the EP have a special earworm quality to them that make them all worth several more listens at the least."
Having rocked the stages of Warped Tour, MTVu and SXSW, the band has recently been performing along the east coast, met with the response of eager fans ready for new music.
"Body Wars might be a different sound from us but we feel right at home with our new EP," the band remarked about the project. "We took a long time to figure out exactly what we wanted for this release, and we feel like the sounds and the content on this record is exactly what we wanted to bring to everyone." Present throughout the new music are the vocals of Melissa Menago, described by Going Solo as, "a wonderful tone of voice that runs like a river through galactic walls of synths and nimble basslines."
June Divided is comprised of Melissa Menago (guitar, keys, vocals), Chris Kissel (guitar), Keith Gill (drums), and Lenny Sasso (bass, synth). The four-piece initially came together while studying at Philadelphia's Drexel University and have been collaborating and creating ever since. After dominating the Warped Tour world with their previous projects, The Other Side of You (2011) and Backbone (2012), June Divided stepped back to evolve their sound and record new music. Evident on already released singles "I Didn't Mind" and "Body Wars," the full Body Wars EP showcases the dynamic energy of June Divided. New Music Seminar's Peter Schwinge remarked that, "They're not just another three-chord rock band, there's some real intricate and subtle stuff going on...and Melissa's attitude on stage says she's there to kick some ass."
