LA-based Meyers Media Group (MMG) announced on Jan. 19 that Jonathan Rhys Meyers, (Match Point, Mission: Impossible III, The Tudors) is in final talks to take the lead role in their upcoming production “BLUE ON BLUE.”
To be directed by Jon Amiel (Entrapment, Creation, The Core) the script was penned by David Chisholm and is based on a story by Edward Brehm, David Chisholm and Ethan Cohan.
Producing for MMG are Lawrence Steven Meyers and Randy Dannenberg, and Brendan McDonald for McDonald Media. Executive Producers are John Evangelides and Jonathan Tybel, with Co-Producers Edward Brehm and Ethan Cohan.
MMG will also handle worldwide sales.
Inspired by true events, "BLUE ON BLUE" tells the story of Raymond Peele, a corrupt cop to be played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who uses his extensive charm and guile to ensnare an unsuspecting rookie cop in a daring web of deceit and betrayal.

Abrams’ "Mission: Impossible III" and cult classic "Bend it Like Beckham."
Rhys Meyers has also impressed on the small screen and was rewarded with a Best Actor Globe for his starring role in the CBS television miniseries “Elvis.”
He was honored again when he received his second Golden Globe nomination for his role as "Henry the VIII" in Showtime’s global hit "The Tudors" (2007-2010), which saw him working alongside director Jon Amiel for multiple episodes.
Later this year Rhys Meyers is set to star alongside John Hurt in the upcoming Syrian set drama, Damascus Cover.
