Out Web Fest's "Skirtchasers" screening included star Barry Bostwick talking about being a womanizer in the series and having his lesbian daughter be the same. Bostwick participated in a Q&A after screening the first episode of the series.
Robyn, played by Elizabeth Keener, is freshly single after a break-up with her long time girlfriend the day before their wedding.
Keener has a nice comedic timing which keeps it from being over-the-top and keep her character grounded.
As Robyn deals with mending her broken heart, she realizes her issues delve further than her issues with commitment; they go way back, to her father Damien, played by Barry Bostwick.
Bostwick is a good match for Keener as their interaction flows naturally and they play well off of each other.
After the split of her parents, her best-selling novelist father, remarried a much younger woman and became a father again, abandoning Robyn.
The first episode is set to grab the audience's attention with emotional cues and some witty well placed comedic lines.
Tello Films distributes web series with a lesbian focus, Out Web Fest seems like a good place for a screening and it was received well.
Bostwick said that he has worked with members of the lgbtq community throughout his career and that they are people like like anyone else. It was no different for him being in this series paling the father to a lesbian daughter.
The series can be found on TelloFilms.com where all five episodes of "Skirtchasers" Season 1 are available to premium users, along with other series.
Series writers and directors Stan Zimmerman and James Berg said they were thrilled they were persistent on working with Bostwick and were happy to get him for "Skirtchasers" because he fit the role and brought a great comedic element to the role.
