The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent defenseman Stepan Falkovsky on a three-year entry-level contract, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced on July 1.
The 20-year-old Falkovsky (born Dec. 18, 1996) is a 6-7, 224-pound native of Minsk, Belarus who appeared in 54 games last season with the Adirondack Thunder (ECHL), recording 32 points (21-11=32) and 37 penalty minutes.
Drafted in the seventh-round (186th overall) by the Calgary Flames during the 2016 NHL Draft, Falkovsky played for the Ottawa 67’s (OHL) during the 2015-16 season, his first in North America. He posted 32 points (9-23=32), a plus-17 rating and 35 penalty minutes in 58 games with the 67’s.
He also represented Team Belarus at the 2016 World Junior Championships, recording two points (1-1=2) in six games.
