Think Tank Gallery, out of the touristy area of downtown Los Angeles, showcased the artwork of international artists and their different take on the LA culture throughout the 80s and 90s.
This gallery embraces the changing culture with inclusion of several special events popping up throughout the exhibit's run, August 19 through Sept. 23.
Artist from around the world, from Ash Santos from Spain to Ray Young Chu from America, some magnificent art and installations will showcase what is being called a love/hate letter to the city.
Art work ranges from colorful paintings, black and white photos, interactive installations, a 90s DMV inspired dive bar sponsored Lagunitas Brewing Company and a retro arcade sponsored by Playboy.
Opening night reception on August 19 from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. will commence the ticketed activities and give an opportunity for some of the artist to mingle with attendees.
To Live and Di(n)e in LA on Sept. 21 at starting at 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. will immerse attendees in a night of good cuisine, good drinks and reminiscing with some nostalgic tragic characters from Los Angeles' history. From The Black Dahlia to Night Stalker, there have been some infamous people in LA's history that everyone will remember.
Little Face and Higher Beauty collaborate to bring "Cannabis Cabaret" on Sept. 1 starting at 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. The show will take place in a speakeasy setting at Think Tank Gallery with burlesque acts drag, puppetry and include curated cannabis brands.
Brunchie's with Roscoes on August 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 pm. West Coast legends Roscoe's will hook it up with their famous chicken and waffles as well as Little Face bringing cannabis mimosas made with Cannabis Quencher, Prerolls from Higgs and other product from ShowGrow.
At this secret diner, for a one day only event, the focus on West Coast hip hop, lowbrow art, and chicken and waffles.
There's nothing more LA than escape rooms as of recent times, bringing this exhibit closer to our times, escape rooms will be available from Sept. 11 through Sept. 13. Sept. 11 will be the Drinkin' day, Sept 12 will be the Smoking' day and Sept. 13 will be the West Coastin' day.
These and other special events will be in conjunction with the fan static art exhibit "Drinkin', Smoking' and West Coastin'."
