Actor Kirk Acevedo has been a fan of horror movies and is thrilled to now be part of the “Insidious” horror franchise, only the second horror project he’s auditioned for.
“Insidious: The Last Key” fits the narrative story and fills in back story in the Insidious franchise.
Acevedo originally thought he would be both character Tony Garza and the demon in ”Insidious: The Last Key,” but he said that due to the budget he only got the opportunity to be Tony.
The most important part is to tell the best story for the franchise’s fans to embrace and enjoy.
For Acevedo, getting the part came after he auditioned for Pennywise in the new “IT” movie, but after losing the part of Pennywise, he was fortunate to have Blumhouse gain interest in him.

Blumhouse saw the audition tape for Pennywise and offered him the role, Acevedo said. He wasn’t sure he knew how to feel when he was cast, but he was excited to be part of the franchise.
Every character of this chapter to the Insidious franchise helps sync up and give chances for a wider Insidious universe.
Even though Acevedo’s character isn’t meant to be likable Acevedo believes the movie is one that the horror community can enjoy as a whole.
All the parts of “Insidious: The Last Key” come together to create a story with drama, comedy and some fantastic scares.
Audiences have heard bits and pieces of Elise’s backstory, but this chapter gives rise to new characters with similar abilities to Elise.
