Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival powered by Gringo Bandito is pleased to announce that the growing festival welcomes the return of world champion eater Takeru Kobayashi as he demonstrates his eating capabilities at multiple festival locations including this past weekend at KLOS Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival in Dana Point, CA and 98 Rock Presents Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival in Sacramento, CA, as well as the upcoming Sabroso dates in Denver, CO; Albuquerque, NM; Auburn, WA and Portland, OR.
Kicking off the 2018 Sabroso festival tour, Takeru Kobayashi won the highly acclaimed Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Challenge taco eating contest for the second year in a row, competing against seven other professional eaters at the KLOS Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival on Saturday, April 7 in Dana Point, CA.
To win the highly-coveted title of Chronic Tacos Eating Champion, Kobayashi devoured 154 tacos in 10 minutes.
From Nagano, Japan, Kobayashi, holds eight Guinness World Records for competitive eating and is the undefeated champion of the Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Championship. In 2017 he succeeded in devouring 159 tacos in 10 minutes - shattering his own 2015 record of 144 tacos.
Following the Chronic Tacos Challenge at KLOS Sabroso in Dana Point, Kobayashi will conduct meet-and-greets and eating demonstrations at the Sabroso dates in Denver, Albuquerque, Auburn and Portland.

During the eating demonstrations, he will explain and showcase how to consume multiple tacos in one minute.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to travel with the festival and introduce the sport of competitive eating to thousands of spectators,” Kobayashi said.Along with Kobayashi’s eating demonstrations and participation in the Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Challenge in Dana Point, all Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco, & Music Festival dates also offer unique, gourmet tacos, craft beer sampling, spirited games, and live performances by The Offspring and Pennywise, along with bands including The Vandals, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Unwritten Law, Los Kung Fu Monkeys, and more on select dates (lineups vary by city). Attendees are also invited to sample all flavors of The Offspring lead singer Dexter Holland’s top rated hot sauce - Gringo Bandito.
Additionally, KLOS Sabroso Craft Beer, Taco & Music Festival in Dana Point, CA saw taco vendors compete for the coveted Sabroso "Best Of Show," awarded by a panel of highly acclaimed food judges.
Chisme Tortilleria claimed 1st place with their Asada Cimichurri Taco: hand pressed tortilla, skirt steak, salsa roja, onions, cilantro, sambal, fresh potato chips, and chimichurri. Coming in right behind them was Fiesta Gourme in 2nd place with their Fiesta Fish Taco: flour tortilla, green salsa, serrano crema, tilapia, and cheese, and Sausage King placed 3rd with the Sausage INYO Taco: Cajun chicken, jalapeno slaw, salsa, and shredded jack cheese.
