The Los Angeles Kings have acquired a fifth-round selection in the 2019 NHL Draft from Chicago in exchange for the reserve rights for forward Dominik Kubalik, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced on January 24, 2019.
The Kings now have two fifth-round selections and eight selections overall in the upcoming draft, set for June 21-22 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The draft selection acquired today from the Blackhawks originally belonged to the Arizona Coyotes.
Kubalik was selected by the Kings in the seventh-round (191st overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft. He is a 23-year-old from Plzen, Czech Republic, who currently plays for HC Ambri-Piotta (Swiss National League).
Thanks to the NHL All-Star Break and a bye week, the Kings won’t play again until a February 2, 2019 road game against the New York Islanders.
