Univisión's Premio Lo Nuestro announced the nominees for its awards ceremony, an annual extravaganza that has honored the best in Latin music since 1989.
SESAC’s urban-music pioneer, Nicky Jam, continues to dazzle audiences year-after-year with his iconic songs. He leads SESAC Latina artists with eight nominations this year, and his chart-topper "X" is a finalist for Song of the Year.
Also, in the urban genre, young Colombian heartthrob Manuel Turizo is nominated for New Artist of the Year.
In Latin pop, Mexico's unstoppable trio Reik is up for six awards, including Song of the Year with "Me Niego" (I Refuse).
Regional Mexican powerhouse Calibre 50 is nominated five times, including for Song of the Year, on the strength of its #1 hit "Mitad y Mitad" (Half and Half).
This group is led by SESAC Latina affiliate Edén Muñoz, who helped Banda MS receive three nominations with his composition "Tu Postura" (Your Stance). Meanwhile, the 20-year-old "mariacheño" sensation Christian Nodal is nominated in the marquee Artist of the Year category and for Regional Mexican Artist of the Year.
Some 25 years into its career, the legendary group Intocable, helmed by Ricky Muñoz, remains at the top of its game with its single “Cuidaré” (I Will Safeguard), nominated for Norteño Song of the Year.
In total, SESAC Latina artists have garnered 29 nominations, representing another proud accomplishment for the music rights organization.
