"We are extremely excited about the 'Sunny Daze' World Premiere in Los Angeles at Dances With Films, which is a festival that focuses filmmakers and truly independent films and have discovered many groundbreaking films and helped the filmmakers get their films out to audiences through the festival, with many getting distribution deals," Wiles said.
"'Sunny Daze' will have its New York Premiere at the SOHO International Festival, which gives love and exposure to real independent films and filmmakers. It is important for passionate independent filmmakers to have the support of these two fantastic film festivals. DWF and SOHO are great showcases for new independent films," Wiles said.In Sunny Daze, Sunny Chase had it all: a notable music career, a loving family, and many friends who were always there for him.
But, after a decade on the road chasing what was once a dream, the absence from his family resulted in a failed marriage.
Longing for something more, a burnt out Sunny decides to take a break and raise his kids.
Now, after years of not performing and not making any money, his functioning alcohol and drug use is causing his life to unravel at a dangerous pace.
To top it off, Sunny is haunted by the recent death of his best friend, Mickey.
With his life at a standstill, his current wife and young daughter having just left him, Sunny is at his breaking point.
His self-medication is escalating, and his family and friends tell him something needs to change.
But it is through Mickey's son, Sean, that Sunny gains the strength to try to get clear of his demons and move forward in rebuilding his life.
"You write about things you know things you've experienced ...things you've seen your friends experience ....your family , loved ones- you write about things you've been affected by. I'm interested in behavior. I'm interested in telling stories about the struggles one has.... and knowing there is always a light at the end of the tunnel," Wiles said.Producing with Wiles and Peace are Producers Michael O'Shea Jr., Mandy June Turpin, and Igor Kosenko; Executive Producers Susan Noah Hensel, Jennifer L.
