California SNAP recipients are now able to order groceries online on Amazon as part of its participation in the USDA SNAP Online Purchasing Pilot.
Through this program, individuals and families in California that receive CalFresh benefits can use their SNAP EBT cards to purchase groceries online at Amazon and other participating retailers and have them delivered directly to their door.
California joins eight other states participating in the program, including Alabama, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Nebraska, New York, Oregon, and Washington, with more states expected to follow.
With online acceptance of SNAP, Amazon’s selection, competitive pricing, and home delivery can improve the grocery shopping experience for SNAP participants, while also helping them extend their benefits further.
