As “Impractical Jokers: The Movie” tries to put a story to the practical jokes the four friends put each other through, a variety of hilarious new and revisited jokes are made into a competition.
With a very thin storyline for the competition, the movie is a road trip practice joke movie that serves its purpose of entertaining and making audiences laugh constantly.
While fans of the series may already be familiar with the antics of stars James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn, Joe Gatto, and Sal Vulvano, also known as the comedy troupe The Tenderloins, through the success of the “Impractical Jokers” series, the fictional story gets mixed with real-life footage of over-the-top antics.
Paula Abdul, Jaden Smith, and Joey Fatone help bring some star power to the cast and propel the fictional story as well as the real-life footage.
Some animal guest stars, both scary and majestic, brings an enticing and hilarious unexpected aspect to the movie as they seem to appear in unexpected times.
While some practical jokes get giant laughs, have some family members pop up, and at times uncomfortable laughs, there’s few that don’t become enjoyable.
The personalities of the four friends are distinct and are set against each other to put each one through punishing feats in their road trip competition which will help them get redemption for a high school mishap involving Paula Abdul.
Even with the comedy and sometimes bordering on extreme practical jokes, the audiences has an opportunity to connect with Murray, Quinn, Gotto, and Vulvano.
Even with eight seasons of “Impractical Jokers,” the movie finds a way to bring a new life and fresh approach to the comedic antics the four friends get to.
“Impractical Jokers” delivers some incredibly funny moments which pushes these four friends further than they have on eighth season.
