UrbanflixTV proudly features original programming and exclusive acquired content that embraces the innate desire people have to not only relate to what they watch, but also to appreciate and learn about the distinctive lives, experiences and perspectives of others.
Setting itself apart, UrbanflixTV is the home of entertaining, unique stories and content with diverse casts, storytellers and themes, not just for some of us, but for all of us.
At its launch, UrbanflixTV is rolling out a robust slate of scripted series, unscripted shows, feature films, short films, documentaries, and plans to release new original and acquired content on a regular basis.
One of its original scripted series is the fitness gym comedy “PUMP,” written and directed by Corey Grant (“Illicit”) and starring Ray J (“Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood”), Jennifer Freeman (“My Wife and Kids”), McKinley Freeman (“Hit the Floor”), Lanett Tachel (“Blood Brothers”) and Michael Jai White (“Arrow,” “Black Dynamite”).
For unscripted shows, one of the UrbanflixTV originals is the stand-up comedy series “LAUGH TONIGHT WITH DAMON WILLIAMS” featuring Damon Williams (“ComicView”) and some of the hottest comics around such as Correy Bell, Atsuko Okatsuka, Leonard Ouzts, Daphnique Springs, Kira Soltanovich and Mark Viera, to name a few.
Showing its broad scope of content even further, UrbanflixTV acquired the exclusive rights to the coming-of-age musical drama “HOWARD HIGH.” From the creators of “You Got Served,” it stars Brian White (“Ambitions,”), Marques Houston (“Sacrifice,”), Chrissy Stokes (“Southland”) and Dorien Wilson (“In The Cut”).
“CASTING THE NET,” another UrbanflixTV original series, is a comedy that explores three Hollywood reject actresses who create a fake movie to garner the attention of the silver screen elites. It was created and directed by Andrew P. Jones (“Nanny 911”) and stars Linara Washington ( “Shameless)”, Siena Goines ( “Westworld”), Apryl Jones (“Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood”) and Ella Joyce (“Set It Off” and ”Roc”).
“UrbanflixTV is at the forefront of inclusive, imaginative entertainment,” CEO Kevin Griffo said. “The core of who we are is reflected in the choices we’ve made in the variety of shows we have and who you see on screen. The word ‘urban’ means relating to a city, and we are all from different cities with different cultures. We at UrbanflixTV are proud that the content we’re making available to viewers is a reflection of those differences.”Viewers can enjoy ad-free content 24/7 for $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, along with a complimentary 7-day free trial by signing up at Urbanflixtv.com.
