Shackelford discusses the impact of the story the first all black hospital, Homer G. Phillips hospital, and why the doctors of the hospital became the best in their fields due to the need of having the top black doctors. The hospital could not hire the best doctors, so the doctors had to push themselves to get better and better.
The documentary is the start of what director Shackelford hopes becomes a docu-series, because there is so much more to tell not only about the history of the hospital, but the present research that the hospital is doing.
