Actor Savannah Nicole Ruiz talks with Jesus Figueroa, of ThisFunktional.com, about HBO Max’s GORDITA CHRONICLES.
HBO Max’s comedy series “Gordita Chronicles.” Inspired by a true story, the series is about a Latina reporter, Carlota ‘Cucu’ Castelli (played by Olivia Goncalves) looking back on her childhood as a chubby, willful, and reluctant Dominican immigrant growing up with her eccentric family in 1980s Miami.
On the show Savannah plays “Emilia,” Cucu’s older sister who she is always at odds with.
The show also stars Diana Maria Riva and Juan Javier Cardenas and is written and executive produced by Claudia Forestieri, who’s life inspired the series, and directed by Eva Longoria.
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, Cinestar Pictures (Zoe Saldana’s production company), Osprey Productions, and Unbelievable Entertainment (Eva Longoria’s Production company).
