CHANMINA’s first-ever global focused song, “FORGIVE ME,” was released on April 25.
The track presents a catchy hyper-pop sound infused with drum and bass accents, unveiling a musical landscape previously unexplored by CHANMINA. Be sure to pay attention to the fast-pace drops and the lyrics that will surely make you feel like an edgy, cool rebel.
The special video was also released on their official YouTube channel, showing behind-the-scenes footage of their recording session in Los Angeles.
The production team includes highly reputed global creators such as Tay Dex, known for his work with artists like 21 Savage and Anderson .Paak, as well as Bubbs aka Gabe Steiner recognized for his contributions to Noname’s works and his trumpet performances. Additionally, the production features UMI who gained attention recently for releasing a digital single with BTS’s V, and Rosemarie Tan, who has previously worked with Nas. With these individuals merging talents along with CHANMINA, this track is sure to be a viral hit for this new generation.
Here is a comment from CHANMINA about “FORGIVE ME”:
“This is a song I wrote when I got tired of living in an era where people are criticized for everything they do, and sometimes even become overly sensitive about personal matters. Whether you forgive me or not, it doesn't matter. I'll live freely regardless.”
In Japan, this song has already been chosen to be used in Maybelline New York’s “Sky High Mascara” web commercial, as well as the theme song for “The Wife Whose Liver Was Taken Away”, a weekly TV drama aired locally. With the help of these exposures, fans on social media have been buzzing with excitement for the release with comments such as “I heard a part of it in the drama and it’s amazing” and “Will we hear it live?”.
On April 24, a surprise teaser video for “FORGIVE ME” was also released. The video shows a handful of adorable, wholesome candid photos shot with a film camera by the production team. We encourage everyone to check out this little glimpse of behind-the-scene moments along with the song’s release.
