The Emo Orchestra accompanying Escape the Fate took a trip through the early days of the Emo genre playing some of the genre’s top hits and included some iconic songs from other genres at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles California on May 18.
Escape the Fate played only four original songs, but thrilled the audience with songs that defined Emo music throughout the years.
The inclusion of “Aerials,” originally performed by System of a Down, brought a roar from the excited crowd which sang the chorus and then some.
The Orpheum Theatre was a beautiful venue which, with its breath taking architecture, made the night’s celebration of Emo music more prestigious.
The heart pounding covers began with a rendition of “Thnks fr th mmrs,” originally played by Fallout Boy, which set the tone for the first half of the night’s performance.
Lead singer Craig Mabbit showed off his extensive energy as he made sure everyone got to experience the show by moving around the entire stage during each song and even coming into the crowd and making his way to the balcony before heading back to the stage.
“Dear Maria Count Me In,” originally by All Time Low, brought the audience to their feet as they sang along word for word throughout the majority of the song.
Reminiscent of last year’s Emo Orchestra with Hawthorn Heights “Ohio is for Lovers” came with yet another uproar from the crowd who seemed to be up to singing along with yet another song.
The Emo Orchestra as a whole added another wonderful layer to captivate the audience. The accompaniments brought a new sound to songs which are already beloved by the Emo fans.
“I Miss You,” originally performed by Blink-182, slowed the night down slightly, but continued on with the fantastic mood of the evening as the audience enjoyed the performance.
All My Chemical Romance songs got the crowd pumped as the band has been a staple of the Emo genre.
The Emo Orchestra with Escape the Fate Spring tour is a delight and worth spending an evening listening to brilliant renditions of well known Emo songs.
