Acclaimed Argentine dancer Herman Cornejo brings his latest production, Anima Animal, to the Joyce Theater in New York for its U.S. premiere, with performances running from February 18 to 23, 2025, marking the start of his winter season.

This innovative production pays tribute to the legendary Vaslav Nijinsky, exploring the connection between humanity and nature through dance. Following its New York debut, Anima Animal will premiere in Miami on February 25 at the New World Symphony Theater in Miami Beach.

Inspired by Nijinsky’s unfinished project during his time in Argentina, Anima Animal is a visionary work that blends dance, mythology, and reflection on the human condition. Through this production, Cornejo revisits universal themes such as love, community, peace, war, redemption, and our intrinsic connection with nature.

The narrative follows a man's journey of self-discovery as he embraces the noble animal instincts within us all.

About Herman Cornejo
Considered one of the most influential dancers of his generation, Herman Cornejo has been recognized worldwide for his exceptional talent. At age 16, he won the Gold Medal at the VIII International Competition in Moscow, becoming the youngest dancer in history to receive this prestigious award. In 1998, he joined the ABT Studio Company, and a year later, the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). In 2000, he was promoted to soloist, and in 2003, to principal dancer, solidifying a career marked by excellence and innovation in classical and contemporary dance.
